Annual Report 2023
Keys Group is pleased to announce the publication of its Annual Report for 2023.
Welcome to Glanmore, a service dedicated to providing exceptional support for individuals with Mental Health Needs, Acquired Brain Injuries, Autism and Learning Disabilities. Glanmore offers a secure and nurturing environment tailored to adults seeking rehabilitation and support in enhancing their skills and daily tasks. Our ultimate goal is to empower individuals to attain greater independence, fostering their ability to eventually integrate into the broader community.
We prioritise a collaborative approach, closely engaging with the care teams of those we support to deliver personalised, person-centered support. Our commitment is reflected in the creation of robust and dynamically evolving care plans. Working in tandem with external professionals, we establish a comprehensive circle of care and support. Utilising the Recovery Star framework, we map out the steps necessary for individuals to achieve their goals and gain independence. This process incorporates mental health support plans, positive behavioural support plans, and emotional support provided by our dedicated staff and external services.
Our affiliations with Mental Health Services and Learning Disability Services underscore our dedication to fostering strong working relationships within the broader support network. At Accomplish, we prioritise continuous professional development through a combination of online platforms and face-to-face training. Notably, our team is proficient in Studio 111—an approach centered on low-arousal techniques and distraction strategies, rejecting the use of physical restraint.
Our staff members are extensively trained to meet the unique needs of the individuals they support, and we actively encourage ongoing professional development to ensure they remain at the forefront of their field. We are committed to delivering unparalleled care, empowering individuals to thrive on their journey toward independence.
Glanmore prioritises comfort and community engagement. The main lounge, conservatory, and a smaller lounge area provide inviting spaces. The adjacent dining room features a six-person table and chairs, complete with additional entertainment from a TV. Accessible via a lift, the first floor houses four en suite bedrooms, an office, and a dedicated medication room, with a staircase leading to a second-floor self-contained flat. The communal kitchen, linked to the dining room, and an adjoining laundry room enhance functionality.
The back garden, accessed through a corridor, includes a parking area, a designated smoking shelter, and a versatile summer house. The entrance showcases two en suite bedrooms, a downstairs toilet. Glanmore’s well-thought-out layout, amenities, and setback from the road create a welcoming and equipped residential environment for the people supported.
The people we support at Glanmore benefit from a rich array of local amenities that enhance their community experience. The town centre, a brief 10-minute walk away, offers access to shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions, promoting a sense of independence. Nearby bus stops, just minutes from the home, provide convenient transportation to Wellington town centre.
This accessibility extends to Telford Town Centre, a mere 20-minute bus ride away. There is a nearby train station for travel to Shrewsbury and other West Midlands towns.
Glanmore stands as a beacon of hope and transformation, where individuals with diverse challenges find a supportive environment to reclaim their lives. One remarkable success story unfolds with a gentleman with a past of abuse and institutionalisation. Upon joining Glanmore, he transitioned from anger and isolation to a life where he found genuine familial bonds. Glanmore became his sanctuary, proving to be the place where he truly thrived.
Another heartening journey involves a young lady with complex needs. Through Glanmore’s support, she not only weathered difficulties but blossomed into a resilient individual. Within two years, she transitioned to a family environment, setting the stage for her imminent entry into renowned universities like Oxford or Cambridge.
Glanmore’s impact extends to a gentleman with a brain injury, initially estranged from his family. Through patient support, he rebuilt his confidence, eventually reuniting with his son independently, embodying the father he aspired to be.
Another good news story comes from lady supported at Glanmore who was in a cycle of hospitalisations. She emerged stronger at Glanmore, gaining the tools to navigate her emotions, and transitioned to supported living, achieving her most settled state in years.
The transformative journey of a gentleman battling severe anxiety encapsulates Glanmore’s dedication. From a paralysing fear of leaving the driveway, he now resides independently on the top floor. With each success, Glanmore reinforces its commitment to fostering not just residence but empowering individuals to realise their full potential and lead fulfilling lives in the community.
