Annual Report 2023
Keys Group is pleased to announce the publication of its Annual Report for 2023.
Fairford Court is a specialist support service for individuals who have a diagnosis of Autism, Mental Health support needs or other complex support needs. We support individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 and beyond.
We provide Person Centred Care for individuals to build their independent daily living skills to manage moving on to supported living. This includes cooking, daily tasks and community access and voluntary work placements for those seeking the skills to get back into employment but also supporting individuals to understand and positively manage day to day stresses and anxiety so that it does not overwhelm them and contribute to their mental health concerns.
We use Autism Profiles to fully understand a person’s autism affects on socialisation, behaviours and routines, communication methods, sensory sensitivities, and interests. This helps
us tailor a unique support plan that is person centred and also built upon by the individual living at Fairford Court during their journey with us towards further independence. We support people to focus on their Physical Wellbeing alongside their mental wellbeing and work with individuals to understand the importance of nutrition and exercise. We have an
exercise group visiting regularly as well as daily activities such as walking, exercise bikes and healthy cooking.
Fairford Court offer a range of activities in house such as Karaoke, Arts and Crafts, Meditation group, gaming afternoons, movie nights etc. We encourage the people that live at Fairford to
make decisions regarding the in-house activities and things they enjoy. We arrange monthly days trips and have recently visited, London Zoo, the Natural History Museum and Winter
wonderland. Monthly meetings are held and people living at Fairford are included in decision making for all activities.
We have 8 ensuite bedrooms, spacious communal lounges, kitchens and dining areas. We also have a well-used activities room which we use for meditation, exercise, yoga, gaming
and much more. In the local area there are many shops and amenities, retails parks, and Finchley Lido leisure centre which includes a cinema, swimming pool and gym. We are nearby to fantastic transport links directly to Central London and locally, with Finchley High Street, Whetstone, Wood Green, and Barnet all just a short bus ride away.
John* has been receiving mental health support from Fairford Court since 2017. With the help of medical professionals and the team at Fairford, John decided to reduce his medication
to improve his physical health and manage his mental health needs through alternative therapies. Ben Adkins, Positive Behaviour Support Lead at Accomplish, taught John breathing
exercises, meditation, and communication techniques to control his negative thought processes and improve his wellbeing.
The team at Fairford Court introduced a food diary to help John be conscious about what he ate. Since reducing his medication, introducing new food habits, and incorporating coping
mechanisms, John has lost weight, recognised negative thought processes, and improved his ability to control his behaviors. He feels mentally, physically, and spiritually better and has
more energy. John still takes medication but uses alternative coping mechanisms to help him manage his behavior and improve his overall wellbeing. Zoe Loizou, Registered Manager at
Fairford Court, said that they supported John in every possible way to achieve his goals and improve his wellbeing.

Fairford Court has introduced alternative therapies to improve the physical and mental wellness of the people supported by the service. The service is offering yoga and meditation
to help reduce stress, chronic pain, and blood pressure as well as pet therapy and daily power walks. There has been great enthusiasm for the activities, with groups of up to five people taking part. Feedback has also been positive, with many commenting on how good it makes them feel. The reception has been so positive, extra sessions have been added.
While still a new addition to what’s on offer at Fairford Court, because of the positive response and outcomes being seen, the activities may become a permanent part of daily life
at the home. Foyinsola Ojomo, a Support Worker at Fairford Court, said: ” These therapies can help people become more mindful of what causes stress and anxiety. Looking to the future, based on what we have seen so far, we would highly recommend alternative therapies to the people we support.
“We also see the potential for these therapies to help people we support progress into the community independently. The introduction of alternative therapies has been a positive
step towards providing holistic care to the people at Fairford Court, and we are excited to continue this journey to provide the best care we can to the people in the service.”
