The people we support and our staff teams throughout the group helped to raise awareness of the importance of good mental health and well-being by wearing green for the day and by placing green ribbons on the doors of its services.
Green is the signature colour for the annual event and this year’s theme is “Mental Health in an Unequal World”.
Mel Ramsey, Chief Executive of Accomplish, said: “Protecting and enhancing mental health and well-being is something we are passionate about at Accomplish and marking World Mental Health Day is very important to us, and the people we support.
“Many of the people we support, and our colleagues, organise events and activities to mark the day each year, and so this year, as well as those individual activities, we wanted to support the day across the Group.
“Wearing green and displaying green ribbons are a small way of raising awareness of the importance of mental health within our services and in our communities and we’re delighted to be able to support this vitally important day.”
One of the services that took part was Merstone House in Birmingham, which supports people with mental health needs to live as independently as possible.
Manager Bobbie Critchley said: “We’re encouraged everyone at Merstone House to show their support of World Mental Health Day this Sunday and hope that we can raise awareness not just within our service, but within our local community, about just how important protecting our own, and each other’s mental health, really is.
