Annual Report 2023
Keys Group is pleased to announce the publication of its Annual Report for 2023.
Cae Deri specialises in supporting 14 adults with Mental Health needs, potentially accompanied by a Learning Disability or a dual diagnosis. Our tailored care is designed for individuals with diverse abilities and complex needs. At Cae Deri, our primary focus is on empowering each person to cultivate self-confidence and pursue activities important to them. Through our support, individuals are encouraged to achieve personal milestones, fostering a sense of fulfillment and enabling them to lead happier lives.
We are committed to ensuring that individuals receive the appropriate level of care and support tailored to their needs. We utilise the Recovery Model, along with 1:1 key worker support, to monitor individuals’ progress. All our assessments are reviewed every four weeks, encouraging the person we support to be involved in their care plan. We work with individuals through self-development, empowering them to learn new skills and set goals to work towards while in our care. Our primary focus is to empower individuals, granting them greater independence and control over their lives. We encourage individuals to believe that the positive atmosphere within our home will enhance their quality of life and support them in reaching their full
potential.
Cae Deri has spacious, communal environments for social interaction, balanced with privacy and personal space for everyone. The accommodation consists of five studio apartments and nine en-suite bedrooms. The studio apartments are designed to promote independence for individuals who are ready to step down to the next level of independence, but who also continue to require support to manage their needs.
Cae Deri situated in Gowerton, Swansea, offers a range of accessible amenities and facilities for the individuals we support. Within close proximity, the people we support can enjoy the convenience of nearby leisure centres, providing opportunities for recreational activities and fitness pursuits. The town of Gowerton itself offers a charming local community atmosphere, with various shops and services catering to everyday needs, ensuring convenience and accessibility for the people at Cae Deri. Additionally, Swansea, a vibrant city nearby, boasts a broader array of amenities, entertainment options, and diverse shopping experiences, contributing to a well-rounded and enriched living environment for those at Cae Deri
The success of introducing pets at Cae Deri, including 2 budgies and tropical fish, is a testament to the people we support, who have dedicated themselves to caring for these animals, supported by the staff team. This initiative reflects their growing independence and responsibility.
Moreover, the active engagement of one person in volunteer work at the Swansea Community Farm and another’s participation in a day centre, involving paint-along sessions and gardening, showcases their determination, supported and encouraged by the staff team at Cae Deri. It highlights the collaborative
efforts between the people we support and the supportive staff team, fostering a culture of independence and growth within the community.

“My decision to select this care home for my mother was made by reading inspection reports online and having telephone conversations with the Service Manager. I have received regular updates on Mum’s condition. Mum always looks clean, happy and has gained weight, which she needed to do. Staff are caring, and Mum appears to have settled in well.” – Review from family member of person supported at Cae Deri
“It’s a secure property with helpful and friendly staff. Everything is well maintained and always clean and tidy. Residents are well provided for and allowed to live as independently as their needs allow.” – Review from independent Mental Capacity Advocate
