The National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards 2022 Finalists Announced
We are proud to announce we have three finalists at the National Learning Disabilities and Autism...
College Fields is a male only service supporting 6 people with a variety of needs including Mental Health, Asperger’s and Acquired Brain Injuries. We support primarily gentlemen with a forensic background.
We support them to safely integrate into community lifestyle mitigating risks. We focus on enabling them to develop skills, strengths and resilience. We help them to form their own set of resources to self-manage and maintain well-being. In the last 10 years, we have successfully rehabilitated 19 gentlemen.
College Fields ethos is to have belief in the person and our abilities to support change, making a difference to their future. We strive to treat people as human beings first and their diagnosis secondary. One of our strengths is to increase people’s confidence and self-esteem in their own abilities, to give them hope to achieve their goals (however long this takes).
College Fields staff are experienced in supporting people who have a forensic background, people who have engaged in illicit substance and alcohol misuse, people who experience anxiety and low self-esteem etc. Staff work alongside other professionals including MAPPA, Probation, PPU.
We like to discuss with all prospective people their future hopes, goals and what they would like to receive from our service. We will support them develop through targeted pathways to aid recovery, and achieve increased independence. Community participation is really important– we advocate voluntary work for many different reasons – having purpose to your day, feeling a sense of belonging, building relationships/friendships etc. There are rules and boundaries within the service which is vital to maintaining good mental health and harmonious living.
College Fields has 6 en-suite bedrooms. There is a communal kitchen, lounge and conservatory. There is a small room which they refer to as the ‘quiet room’, which enables private meetings to take place between the gentlemen and their visitors, care teams or family. There is a large garden at the rear of the property and a driveway at the front of the property.
