We are delighted to announce our two finalists at the Wales Care Awards were given deserved plaudits for their extraordinary work.
Corey Edwards, the company’s Regional Healthcare Trainer, was a finalist in the Exceptional Newcomer award and while he didn’t scoop the top honour, the judging panel were so impressed by his fantastic work, they awarded him a Silver commendation.
Colleague Sarah Jones, a Learning and Support Officer for Accomplish Group, was shortlisted in the Commitment to Training and Workforce Development Award. Judges were also impressed by her contribution and awarded her a Bronze commendation.
Part of the Regional Training Team in Wales, Sarah and Corey were shortlisted for their work in establishing and running the Accomplish Choir, which brings together the talents of 30 people who use the organisation’s residential and supported living services and the staff who support them.
The choir has seen fantastic success since its formation and has performed twice at the National Disabilities and Autism Awards in Cardiff, even opening last year’s event with a performance which earned a standing ovation from the crowd.
This year saw the 16th anniversary of the Wales Care Awards, which are held in association with Care Forum Wales. Sarah and Corey, along with their fellow nominees, were presented with their awards at a glittering ceremony held at City Hall in Cardiff, hosted by tenor and radio presenter Wynne Evans, better known as Gio Compario from the Go Compare TV ads.
Kelly Pirotte Head of Learning and Development at Accomplish said: “We were delighted that the fantastic work of both Corey and Sarah has been honoured in this way. The Accomplish Choir goes from strength to strength and that is through their hard work and commitment to the people who use our services, and those who support them. A huge well done to them both!”
