ABI Week – Harvey Road Success Stories
This week is Action for Brain Injury Week and the theme is “see the hidden...
Supporting people to live as independently as possible in a home of their own is the aim of Accomplish Group’s newest supported living service.
Fieldbarn in Weymouth will support up to four people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism or acquired brain injury. Up to three people will be supported in the main house and another will live in a single-person annexe.
Accomplish Group’s Dorset-based supported living team will provide bespoke care and support packages based on people’s needs, which may include help with daily living tasks, or support in the community. The people supported at Fieldbarn will each hold their own tenancy agreements with an independent landlord.
Set on a residential street right in the heart of the community, Fieldbarn is close to shops, education and leisure facilities as well as the famous beach. Graeme Harvey is the newly appointed Manager for the Accomplish Dorset Supported Living team and has more than 20 years’ experience of working in CQC regulated homes.
He said: “I’m excited to be leading the team and we’re all looking forward very much to being an active part of the local community in Weymouth, building relationships with our neighbours and making a really positive difference to people’s lives.”
Redford Dolan is Project Manager for Fieldbarn and he said: “It has been great to be part of developing Fieldbarn and seeing the transformation from an empty building into a vibrant place to live.
“It’s only the beginning – we will be supporting five individuals to retain and maximise their independence and lead completely fulfilled lives in their own homes. Each will bring their own touch, ideas and personality to Fieldbarn making it a warm and unique place to live.”
