Annual Report 2023
Keys Group is pleased to announce the publication of its Annual Report for 2023.
This blog is written by Mayowa Yusuff Abubakar, known as Yusuff, who works at Fairford Court – a service in North London supporting people with Autism and Mental Health Needs.
My name is Mayowa Yusuff Abubakar, but within the Accomplish community, I’m known simply as Yusuff. My name is synonymous with Joseph, “The Dreamer,” and working under Accomplish has truly been a realisation of my dreams.
I began my journey at Fairford Court as a Support Worker, starting under probation. My primary focus was to deliver good practice and work towards the goals outlined by our then-Manager, Zoe Loizou. From my very first conversation with Zoe and Deputy Manager, Chris Maturine, I knew I had found the right organisation – one where my skills and qualities would not only be utilised but also truly valued.
Early on, I learnt the importance of attention to detail and effective communication, both of which became vital as I progressed in my career. I embraced every opportunity to learn from my colleagues, especially the senior staff and management. By taking the initiative in small projects and discussions, I gained confidence and built strong professional relationships within the service.
As I gained experience, I was promoted to a Senior Role. This position allowed me to take on greater responsibilities and work closely with management to develop and implement effective initiatives. I was involved in training new employees and optimising workflows, which not only deepened my understanding of the service but also strengthened my leadership and collaboration skills.
My dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed, even by management beyond Fairford Court. I remember my first interaction with Anthony Lewis, who was then the Regional Manager and is now the Divisional Managing Director. He greeted me with warm regard—a moment that reaffirmed I was on the right path.
When a key transition period arrived within the organisation, with Managers stepping into Regional Roles, I knew it was time for me to step up. The Deputy Manager position became vacant, and I thought to myself, “Why not? You work for Accomplish, remember!”
With support from my colleagues and management, I confidently stepped into the role of Deputy Manager. In this position, I’ve had the privilege of influencing decisions, driving positive change, and supporting the new Manager in keeping Fairford Court at the top of its game.
Today, as Deputy Manager, I find myself constantly challenged to think critically and strategically. Working alongside senior management, I’ve had the opportunity to implement new policies and improve the care we provide to the people we support.
I am a proud ambassador of the Accomplish brand and its EPIC mission, which prioritises health, wellbeing, and a person-centred approach. My journey from Support Worker to Deputy Manager has been a fulfilling experience filled with growth, learning, and opportunities to inspire others.
As I continue to evolve in my career, I am excited about what lies ahead. My journey under Accomplish has been nothing short of an epic adventure, and I look forward to supporting others in achieving their own goals within this incredible organisation.
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt, it’s that with Accomplish, dreams don’t just stay dreams – they become reality.
