Learning and Development Team Highly Commended at Skills for Care Accolades Awards 2020

The Learning and Development team from Accomplish Group were finalists in the prestigious Skills for Care Accolades Awards 2020 which reward social care organisations who invest in their workforce so they can offer high quality services.

The 10-strong team were shortlisted in the Most Innovative Endorsed Learning Provider category and while they didn’t take home the top prize, they were Highly Commended by the Award’s judging panel for their work.

The team were nominated for their innovative and technological approaches to providing training to services located in various locations across England and Wales, cutting down on travel and time away from services.

Kelly Pirotte, Head of Learning and Development at Accomplish, said:

“To be Highly Commended at these awards, which are widely regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the learning and development field, is a huge honour.

“To be shortlisted we had to demonstrate expertise in recruiting the right people with strong caring values, how we as an organisation develop our staff’s skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the people they support and also demonstrate the way we developed strong leaders and managers in their services – so a very rigorous process.

“Our approach is to use technology to help people access the learning and development they need to increase their skills, and therefore provide the best care and support for the people who use our services – but while also cutting down on the time they have to travel and be away from services. To have that work recognised in this way is wonderful.”

Chief Executive Mel Ramsey said:

“This is a great achievement for our training team and is a recognition of their hard work and dedication to ensuring the very best learning and development opportunities are delivered to our staff teams across the country.

“By taking creative approaches to training they are not only helping the people who work within Accomplish but ultimately, the people who use our services. A huge well done to them all on being highly commended for their work.”
