Cornwall Supported Living – Thomas Buys His Own House
Home ownership is a dream for many people, and for Thomas it had been a...
Llys Afon supports 2 people with Mental Health needs and Learning Disabilities. We recognise that everyone is different, so we adapt our support to suit each person’s needs. Llys Afon offers the right environment to enable mental and physical well-being. We support people to maintain their identity whilst we work to assist them to regain their self-confidence and start to manage their own Mental Health and relapse. With the right support we feel this environment will help individuals to gain greater independence and more control over their own lives.
Our primary aim is to provide the highest quality care for each person we support and to promote their health and happiness. We offer a warm and homely environment, which caters for individual needs, and aspirations. Our experience has taught us that if we provide support based on sound knowledge of their Mental Health needs, alongside a positive attitude committed to recovery, then this will increase their feeling of safety and self-confidence and provide hope for their future.
We understand that recovery is a journey and through our outcome focused approaches, we support people to achieve their goals and aspirations. We follow the Recovery Model to support the individual’s journey through the recovery pathway. The Recovery Star enables staff to measure and summarise changes in the individual’s Mental Health and behaviour. People are able to see clear evidence of their progress and their involvement in the Recovery Star process, which improves motivation, enhances their skills and builds confidence.
