Annual Report 2023
Keys Group is pleased to announce the publication of its Annual Report for 2023.
An event to mark the renaming of a Dorset specialist brain injury service welcomed some very special VIP guests recently – including a trio of four-legged visitors!
Three canine companions from Pets as Therapy joined the Mayor at celebrations which were held as the service formerly known as Harvey Road – part of Accomplish Group – officially changed its name.
The service in Bournemouth, which supports up to eight people with an acquired brain injury, opened during the first months of the pandemic and was initially named after the road on which it sits. However, having been open nearly two years the people supported at the service said they wanted to change it to better reflect the local area and feel more homely.
The team agreed and plans were soon underway to develop a shortlist and vote on the favourite choice – Willow Lodge. To celebrate its new name, the people supported at the service also chose to hold a special open day and naming event and wanted to invite friends, family and, of course, VIP guests.
Mayor & Mayoress, Cllr and Mrs Robert Lawton were among the special guests and the Mayor also kindly unveiled a plaque commemorating the new name. Also joining the party were three furry volunteers from Pets as Therapy, the charity which Accomplish Group has chosen to support this year.
Manager at Willow Lodge, Andreea Cirstean, said: “Willow Lodge has been opened for just over two years and, because of the pandemic we were limited in properly marking the opening of the service, and inviting people along for a celebration.
“When the people we support suggested it. we thought the idea of renaming the home was a lovely idea and everyone had lots of fun researching alternatives. We were thrilled that so many guests could join us on this special day.”
