Pen Bryn supports seven people with complex Mental Health needs or Learning Disabilities. We support people to develop their own strategies and skills to become as independent as possible. We help individuals work towards the goals they have set, however big or small these may be, assisting them in developing confidence and self-esteem.
At Pen Bryn our aim is to empower people with Mental Health needs and Learning Disabilities, by providing a supportive pathway, which focuses on recovery and proactively encourages people to gain control of their lives, enjoy sustainable independence and have belief in their potential.
We provide people with the right support, which assists them in developing coping techniques, which can make a noticeable difference to their everyday lives. Our staff are person centred in their approach and offer innovative choices that encompass each person’s needs. The support people receive, enables them to achieve positive outcomes and an independent lifestyle.
We empower the people we support, by building trust and focussing on skills development and re-enablement. We work alongside individuals to help them build their future and increase personal empowerment. We support people to access training, volunteering, education and where possible employment opportunities.
Pen Bryn focuses on recovery with the support of carefully planned system that is tailored to each person’s specific needs to encourage personal involvement. The staff utilises tools such as the Mental Health Recovery Star, this is designed to value people’s perspectives and enable empowerment and choice.
Pen Bryn is a large detached house compromising of three floors. There are five en-suite bedrooms, one fully functioning flat and a flat style studio. There is a communal area, kitchen, dining room, lounge and laundry room.
Located in Porth within the charming Rhondda Valley, Pen Bryn is situated in a beautiful countryside of the Bwlch Mountain Ranges that has easy access to lots of amenities in Porth. There are local shops, pubs and restaurants, a leisure centre and cinema. The service is situated for rural actives such as walking, cycling and horse riding.
