A birdhouse created by a person we support has been such a success, he is encouraging other people to build their own and help their own local bird life.
Luke, who is supported at Sunnydale, made a wonderful bird house from scratch in his activity sessions. Once it was finished, he placed it in a tree nearby and has been delighted to see that within a week, some birds moved in. Since then, they have nested and welcomed some chicks too.
Sunnydale is a residential rehabilitation service in Shropshire which supports people with mental health needs.
To help others create their own bird house and hopefully emulate his success, Luke has developed a plan – along with Activities Co-ordinator David – on how to build the best possible bird house.
The template includes the measurements and instructions for how to construct a bird house and is sure to help people welcome more birds into their gardens.
