Princes Court is a male only service supporting 5 people with Mental Health diagnoses such as Schizophrenia, Schizo-Affective Disorder and Learning Disabilities. We support primarily gentlemen with a forensic background to safely integrate into community lifestyle mitigating risks. We focus on enabling them to develop skills, strengths, and resilience. We help them to form their own set of resources to self-manage and maintain well-being.
Our Support
At Princes Court, we pride ourselves on providing individuals with the right support. We want to enable their recovery by assisting them in developing coping techniques to make a noticeable difference to their everyday lives. We understand the importance of providing person-centred support, which enables independence and meets individual’s specific needs. Through our outcomes focused approach, we support people to maintain choice and control of their own lives.
We work with people to achieve their goals through supporting them to access training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. Individuals are supported to engage in their local community and to learn and practice new skills in a supported environment.
Princes Court staff are experienced in supporting people who have a mental health diagnosis, a forensic background, people who have engaged in illicit substance and alcohol misuse, people who experience anxiety and low self-esteem etc. Staff work alongside other professionals across a multi-disciplinary team to provide a holistic approach of support.
Our Approach
We like to discuss with all prospective people their future hopes, goals and what they would like to receive from our service. We will support them develop through targeted pathways to aid recovery and achieve increased independence. Community participation is really important – we advocate voluntary work for many different reasons – having purpose to your day, feeling a sense of belonging and building relationships/friendships.
Accommodation
Princes Court has 3 bedrooms on the 1st floor, and 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor. There is a communal, and recently refurbished kitchen; a main lounge and second lounge/games room. This smaller lounge can be used for facilitating private meetings between the gentlemen and their visitors, care teams or family. There is garden at the rear of the property, which includes a designated smoking shelter.
