The National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards 2022 Finalists Announced
We are proud to announce we have three finalists at the National Learning Disabilities and Autism...
At Trevelyan we provide support for six individuals with Mental Health needs. We assist them to develop individual coping techniques, which makes a noticeable difference to their everyday lives.
Through our outcomes focused approach, we support people to maintain choice and control of their own lives. We understand the importance of providing person centred support which enables independence and meets individual’s specific needs. Individuals are supported to engage in their local community and to learn and practice new skills in a supported environment.
Specialist training enables our staff team to gain a clear understanding of everyone we support. This includes the ability to support people to improve their living and social awareness skills, which are further developed through accessing the community. Our approach offers people access to college, travel training and leisure activities.
Person centred planning is not an assessment. It is about making changes in a person’s life with their input and planning. We use the Recovery Star Model – an outcome-based measurement tool recognised by the Department of Health. By using the Recovery Star, we can support a person’s recovery by measuring progress in areas including managing their mental health, enhancing living skills, building and maintaining social networks, as well as building self-esteem to maximise independence.
Trevelyan has five en-suite bedrooms and one step down studio flat where individuals develop their confidence to work towards achieving their aims and goals. As a result this will motivate them to work towards gaining their independence and eventual integration into the local community.
