Two People from The Chantry Take Part in a Santa Fun Run

William, a person we support and Support Worker Leanne strode out in Santa style to raise money for two great causes. They both joined the 5km Santa Fun Run held in Loughborough where they joined thousands of others dressed as Father Christmas for the run.

William’s love of long walks were all the preparation he needed to successfully complete the run and the fast pace he set helped he and Leanne keep warm on a cold day. The pair raised almost £110 for their chosen charities – William’s donation will be made to a local youth group he attends while Leanne’s will go to a local dementia charity.

Leanne, who has worked at The Chantry for a year, said: “There can’t be many jobs where you can dress up as Santa and go for a run! I loved it, and so did William. He was really keen to get involved and to support the youth group he goes to every week.

“As well as raising cash for his great cause, he also enjoyed chatting to the marshals and everyone else taking part. We both had a great day.”

The Chantry is a residential service which supports people with learning disabilities and mental health needs. Based in Leicester, the service supports 13 people to live as independently as possible.
